In celebration of what would have been the blues legend’s 99th birthday, check out this amazing footage from the 1974 Montreux Jazz Festival with Muddy on vocals, Junior Wells on blues harp & Buddy Guy on guitar. Buddy paid tribute to his friend and mentor on Twitter and Facebook today with these words: “Today I wish my very dear friend, the late great Muddy Waters, a Happy Birthday. Mud, you are father to us all. Without you there would be no Buddy Guy, so I’m gonna keep doin’ like you told me. I’m gonna keep these mothaf*ckin Blues alive.”
